AAG Has Goal of Bringing Quality Ancient Grains to America

The management of Aquarian Ancient Grains, a Delaware-based purveyor of what have become known as “ancient grains” such as millet and quinoa, has embarked on a mission to bring such food items to the tables of families across America. Ancient grains have been given that designation because many of them are among the oldest grains cultivated by man, with some believed to have been harvested some 8,000 to 10,000 years ago.

“Although ancient grains have been cultivated by humans for thousands of years, they are largely unknown to the majority of those living in North America,” Aquarian CEO Don Bielak, said. “We are excited to be among the first to introduce them to the people of the U.S. We believe that once people find out about the many benefits offered by ancient grains, they will be adopted as part of a diet which is high in protein, high in fiber, and gluten-free, which are all attributes of ancient grains like millet and quinoa.”

There are certain criteria that a product must meet to adhere to Aquarian’s strict standards. In order to be offered as an Aquarian product, the grain must be gluten-free, produced by environmentally conscious and sustainable farming procedures, whole grain, and non-GMO. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, each and every Aquarian product is organic.

“Not all ancient grains are grown organically,” Bielak said. “In fact, some are produced in places where there is little or no standards. Our pledge is to offer only the finest, highest quality products available anywhere – certified USDA organic and non-GMO. For example, our quinoa is imported from the Bolivian Andes and is of the higher- quality, large kernel, organic variety. This premium product enjoys the term “royal” to differentiate it from lesser grades. Another example is our millet. It, too, is organic and grown under sustainable farming techniques in Colorado and Oregon. In addition to being organic and gluten free, the ancient grains offered by Aquarian are whole grain, gluten free, high protein and high fiber. All of this adds up to provide us with our company slogan – ‘Quality Products for Healthy Choices.’”

Aquarian expects to take advantage of the societal trend towards healthy, organic food products which are produced in an environmentally responsible manner. They intend to accomplish this by offering healthy alternatives to less desirable options such as white rice and potatoes.

The company maintains a website which can be accessed at AAGrains.com. The site features information about Aquarian products and a number of recipes.

Aquarian projects that its products could be available to the general public late in 2023.
